This is a question that a lot of college students ask themselves. If a student didn’t do so well in high school, then going to a community college first may be the only option. But if this isn’t the case, then the advantages and disadvantages of each option should be carefully considered.
Then there are the online opportunities to network. http://Www.LinkedIn.com, http://www.MySpace.com, and http://www.FaceBook.com all offer opportunities. If you are presently employed, and you want to keep your job search quiet, be aware that some companies have programs that troll these sites looking for the names of their personnel. And don’t forget your high school or college alumni/class reunion options. Many schools and classes offer a link to alumni bio’s and such.
Do not afraid to throw a joke. Most men are skeptical to throw a joke to make any woman laugh. They are afraid that the joke is not that funny and women may feel frustrated or disappointed. Don’t be afraid because women don’t get disappointed when the joke is not funny. Studies shows that women’s brain stays neutral and not disappointed when the joke is not funny but it gives them so much pleasure if the joke is surprisingly funny. So go ahead and try to make any woman laugh, there’s nothing to lose.
The history is very important, i.e., when did the pain first appear? Is it something which occurs frequently, or is this the first time? What is the nature of the pain: Sharp, dull, intermittent or constant? Does it “radiate” somewhere or does it remain in one area? What were the activities prior to the pain? Maybe you were moving railroad ties around your garden, or continuously leaning back to paint a ceiling. Maybe you’ve been sleeping on a roll-away bed while guests are visiting and it has a six inch mattress with a metal bar halfway across it. Do you have fever or blood in your urine (kidney stone)? By this process, your doctor tries to “sift out” the exact nature and specific history of your back pain.
Now I am almost 43 years old, I live on disabilities. While I was in prison my dad wanted to reposess the car that he had cosigned for 2 years ago because I could no longer keep up with the payments and rather than provide a home for my wife and kids he would rather maintain his 5 percent vacancy rate on all the apartments he owned. My half brothers have each been given $100,000 cars and had these great colleges paid for by my father and I have given a lot of thought that If I had been given that kind of start in life that I too would have a great career.
We are trillions of dollars in debt, since Obama came in to office out credit has downgraded not once, or even twice, but if I’m not mistaken four times.
Job searches are hard. And they get harder the longer they take. Stay focused, have a vision, and keep working toward it. If you can, work steadily and regularly. Set aside time. Develop a plan, find a buddy, and keep moving toward the goal. Be honest, don’t kid yourself (and others), and take small achievable steps forward.
